Description
They go straight into the washing machine drum with the laundry. Their movement during the cycle stirs, loosens and beats the laundry mechanically, reproducing on a small scale the washerwomen's gesture. This helps water and detergent circulate better through the fabric. Before washing powder and electric drums, laundry was washed by hand, with a ball for rubbing and a paddle for beating. These two rubber tools from Ecodis take up the same simple principle: mechanical action is enough to lift dirt, without chemicals.
- The washing ball: this is the small ball. It rolls and bounces among the laundry. Its main job is to stir and separate the fabrics, to help water and detergent circulate.
- The washing paddle: this is the flat disc. As it turns with the laundry, its shape lets it beat and knead the fabrics more, like the traditional paddle used at the wash-house.
In short: the ball rolls and stirs, while the paddle beats and kneads. They are complementary and can be used together in the washing machine.
