Description

A knife on the paths of history.

Made by Laguiole en Aubrac, this folding knife brings together fine materials and careful workmanship, which have made the reputation of this French manufacturer. The whole has a quiet elegance, carried by the quality of each detail.

The handle is cut from ebony worked in a twisted form, a shaping that reveals the natural grain of the wood and gives each piece its own character. The grip is firm and comfortable, and the beauty of the material can be felt as much as seen.

The Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade, with a bright finish, gives a clean edge and good resistance to corrosion. The nail nick makes one-handed opening easy. The polished stainless steel bolsters extend the visual harmony of the whole, while the hand-chiselled spring and the forged, chiselled bee are a discreet reminder of the craft tradition behind every knife to leave the Aubrac workshops.

The Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle knife takes its inspiration from the pilgrim routes that have led for centuries to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in Spain. The scallop shell, the historic emblem of pilgrims, naturally became the distinctive ornament of this knife, recalling the values of authenticity, tradition and adventure tied to the famous way.

An everyday pocket knife, a collector's piece or a well-chosen gift: this Laguiole suits all three without overdoing it.
