Farina Eau de Cologne

At the origin of all eaux de Cologne, there's one name: Jean Marie Farina. A perfumer from Italy who settled in Cologne in 1709, he created a composition that was unprecedented for its time - fresh, luminous, balanced - which he simply named "Eau de Cologne", in homage to his adopted city.

The fragrance quickly became a benchmark, adopted by European courts and historical figures such as Napoleon, Goethe and Empress Elisabeth. But at a time when trademark laws did not exist, the name "Eau de Cologne" was not protected. It was quickly imitated, copied and adapted, even to the point of designating an entire category of fresh perfumes... while the original remained faithful to its formula.

Eau de Cologne Farina is a citrus bouquet dominated by fresh bergamot, followed by floral notes (jasmine, violet) and a soft, woody base (sandalwood, olibanum). A subtle, balanced fragrance that never tries to impose itself, but accompanies its wearer with natural elegance.
