This knife is the emblematic pocket knife of Japan. Until 1960 (when it was forbidden for minors to carry knives), all Japanese schoolchildren owned one. Behind its apparent simplicity, this knife is very efficient. Its laminated carbon steel blade is forged "san maï", that is to say in 3 layers: a very hard one in the center for the cutting edge sandwiched between two softer layers for the flexibility. Its handle is made of galvanized steel sheet, black varnish and gold inlays on both sides. On which is engraved a samurai. Blade length : 70mm.
