Le Sérail
Le Sérail is an artisanal soap factory in Marseille, founded in 1949. This house, the youngest of the artisanal soap makers in Marseille, was created to perpetuate the know-how and tradition of the real Marseille soap made from olive oil which was being lost at that time. The founder of the soap factory, Vincent Boetto, bought a farm inside the city and installed traditional equipment such as cauldrons and cutting tools recovered from soap makers who had closed.
Since 2009, his son, Daniel, has taken over the soap factory and continues to perpetuate the know-how left by his father, using the same tools and the same manufacturing techniques. Le Sérail has been awarded the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" label. This recognition attests to the quality and authenticity of the Marseille soap produced by the soap factory.
Le Sérail soap factory offers traditional Marseille soaps with olive oil but also soaps scented with lavender and rose, liquid soaps for the body, shampoos...
