From an early age, Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro had a passion for art and architecture. In 1884, he began producing ceramics. His artistic and creative talent was evident, revealing pieces of high technical quality, mainly in modeling and enameling. He produced pots, vases, jugs and plates of a quality never seen before! He went on to become one of the most influential figures in 19th-century Portuguese culture.
